Chris Kinsey, BBC Wildlife Poet of the Year, presents ‘Poems of Sight and Flight’ at the Dylan Thomas Centre on Thursday, 11 June at 7.30pm. The event is held in association with Greyhound Rescue Wales and Gower Bird Hospital, with all proceeds going to the two charities.
Chris Kinsey will present a collection of ‘hound and bird poems’ from her collections Kung Fu Lullabies and Houndlove. Her poems have been widely published in magazines and anthologies, and following the publication of her first collection, Kung Fu Lullabies, she received an Arts Council of Wales bursary for new writing. Since then, Chris has been a freelance writer and tutor and rescuer of greyhounds.
She has read at Ledbury and Hay Festivals and numerous Poetry Cafes from Cheltenham to Norwich and is on the board of Ty Newydd, The National Writers’ Centre for Wales. She was awarded the title of BBC Wildlife Poet of the Year in 2008.
