June 5, 2009 - PRLog -- DALLAS--Think you're ready to play a real gig after conquering the open mic at the local coffee shop?

The Dallas Songwriters Assoc. hopes to learn from the experiences of others as it hosts a panel discussion on "Beyond Open Mic" featuring Mary Guthrie of Merry and the Mood Swings, Pascale Hall, president and CEO of Opening Bell Coffee Inc. (a popular venue that books musicians daily) and Steve Sullivan, who has developed performance opportunities for DSA members at three different venues.

The regular monthly meeting begins with networking at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Center for Community Cooperation, 2900 Live Oak, Dallas. The guest speakers will begin shortly after 7 followed by a semi-formal song critique. Visitors are asked to donate $5 to the DSA.
