New England Trucking Company Launches “Container Availability Report.”

The development staff at S & J Transportation has created a unique way to notify customers of the location of empty containers in our system with corresponding ports of return. Significant freight cost savings can be realized by the customer when utilizing an empty container from our existing inventory.

Theoretically up to 50% percent of all containers on the road today are moving empty. As a result thousands of miles, many gallons of fuel and excess man hours are being consumed needlessly when moving empty containers. Export manufacturers often generate empty containers directly from the ports. The reverse is true for import containers being delivered to the consignee and returned empty to the ports. S & J Transportation has developed software that tracks these empty containers. A report containing vital container information (Location, Shipping Line, Size, Dates, and Destination Ports) is automatically generated and E-mailed directly to our customers. Customers who are able to use these empty containers are realizing sizable rate reductions.
