Theoretically up to 50% percent of all containers on the road today are moving empty. As a result thousands of miles, many gallons of fuel and excess man hours are being consumed needlessly when moving empty containers. Export manufacturers often generate empty containers directly from the ports. The reverse is true for import containers being delivered to the consignee and returned empty to the ports. S & J Transportation has developed software that tracks these empty containers. A report containing vital container information (Location, Shipping Line, Size, Dates, and Destination Ports) is automatically generated and E-mailed directly to our customers. Customers who are able to use these empty containers are realizing sizable rate reductions.
