McLaren-Mercedes can now look forward to concentrating on getting its championship charge back on track after escaping a ban following an FIA hearing, London Sports car rental aficionados may be glad to hear.
The team has been under pressure and investigation after an incident in the Australian Grand Prix, which resulted in Lewis Hamilton and former sporting director Dave Ryan deliberately misleading race stewards.
While Mr Ryan was dismissed, current champion Hamilton had his points from the race wiped clean.
The World Motor Sport Council has now decided to hand the team a suspended three-race ban, citing the "open and honest way" in which McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh addressed the body.

McLaren-Mercedes car rental has struggled to make an impact since the season began but the team has made some improvements that have seen it occupy fourth place in the constructor's standings.
