April 14, 2009 - PRLog -- One of the most essential tasks of a best man is toasting the couple. Being a best man is not just an adornment in a wedding ceremony. You may think that making and delivering a wedding speech is an intimidating and stressful responsibility. But, the bride and the groom entrusted you with this important role, so take the time and effort to come up with a creative, sincere, interesting, and well-prepared speech.

Delivering a perfect best man wedding speech is a challenging engagement for many men. Not all of us are great public speakers or amazing writers, but a wedding speech in not all about perfect grammar or flawless English. It is all about inspiring messages which will make the guests as well as the couple smile and remember memories.
What you need to do to give a good speech at a wedding is some preparation. You are chosen to be the best man, so be the best that you can be. If you are chosen for this demanding obligation, do not stress. Here are some tips on writing a great Best Man Wedding Speech.

1.   To begin with, reminisce and write some stories and memories that you’ve had with the bride and groom. Describe them then and now. How did the bride and the groom met. How did they grow to become the person they are now?
2.   Research is essential. To make the toast more colourful and comprehensive, ask for help from other family members and friends. If you’re a first time best man, it is also helpful to read books regarding love, marriage and wedding speeches (as long as you make yours original).
3.   Write your toast/speech to a note card, but don’t read straight from it. Practice in front of your family and friends who can give you opinions and suggestions and make adjustments if necessary.
4.   In the opening of your speech, introduce yourself properly. Get people interested in your speech. Share some exciting and funny anecdotes about the couple.
5.   Speak loudly and clearly. You don’t want to hear feedbacks regarding not able to hear your wishes to the couple.
6.   Make a speech that is sincere. The couple as well as the people attending the wedding will appreciate things that come from the heart.
7.   Keep your speech relatively short but sweet. Do not share with the audience long, boring, irrelevant, and humiliating stuff that will offend the couple and their family.
8.   Finally, end the speech with wishes of love, hope, and happiness as well as congratulating the proud groom and blushing bride.

If you still do not know what to say and is suffering from “writer's block”, there are numerous websites offering good wedding speeches. Whether you are the bride, the groom, the best man, the maid of honor, or the parents of the couple, you will definitely find the perfect solution to your dilemma. Many websites nowadays offer a variety of wedding speeches such as classic short toasts, touching and heart-warming wedding speeches or even funny wedding toasts depending on your personality and style.
