PRLog - April 3, 2009 - ZUARINAGAR, India -- SPREE 2009 is the Sports Festival of BITS-Pilani, Goa Campus. To be held from 10th-13th April, 2009, and with the tagline “Pure Sport”, this promises to be an exhilarating experience. With 9 different sports, this will see some of the best teams from across the country battling it out, in an exciting bid to reach the top.
But this is not only what SPREE 2009 has to offer you. There are exciting and innovative new workshops, which will give to you a chance to develop quite a few novel skills. And if not workshops, you guys can always have fun winning goodies at the Games stalls! And most importantly, we have some wonderful Special performances that will enthral everyone who comes to SPREE.
Lithe gymnasts showing you feats that will leave you agape, trained warriors showing a display of ancient Indian martial arts , and a fire artist who will set the night aflame.
Mallakhamb ,a traditional Indian sport in which a gymnast performs poses and feats while hanging from a vertical wooden pole or rope, would leave you asking for more. Another crowd puller show would be Kalaripayattu which is a martial art with origins in Kerala. Kalaripayattu was portrayed in several in-ternational and regional films like The Myth and Asoka.
But the special nights are not the only things to look out for! Have a taste for
Glorifying Indian Sports would be the guid-ing mantra this SPREE. Remember playing gilli danda and kho-kho as kids? If only those days could come back. Well, you can hearken back to your childhood with Kho-Kho, Gilli Danda and Kabaddi. And this is just the beginning.
SPREE has numerous other special events like Futsal and a Sports quiz. There will also be exhibition matches, where the best of the best will fight it out, to carve a path to glory. But one of the unique Special events is the Charity Marathon where you can run. Run to make a difference and help us adopt a school for underprivileged children.
