Tentec Shows New Complete Range of Wind Turbine Bolt Tensioners at Windpower 2009

March 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Tentec, a leading UK designer and manufacturer of bolt tightening equipment for wind turbines, will be showing its Aero range of bolt tensioning tools for wind turbines on Booth 3321a at Windpower 2009, May 4th – 7th in Chicago. The company will be launching two new additions to their Aero range of bolt tensioners, both of which will be on show for the first time anywhere in the world at Windpower. These new tools will ensure that wind turbine installation and maintenance engineers have a complete range of equipment available to handle all bolting applications on any make of wind turbine.

A new, compact tensioning tool will be added to the WTB range for blade and bearing applications. Developed by Tentec’s highly skilled engineers, these new tools have been designed for applications where height restrictions mean that the existing ‘double deck’ bolt tensioners cannot be used. These new ‘single deck’ tools include all the features expected from Tentec manufactured equipment including an overstroke limiter, geared nut rundown and a unique failsafe feature to ensure optimum safety standards.

Tentec has also expanded its WTF range of foundation bolt tensioners, which now includes a tool with a load capacity for tensioning 150ksi Rebar Threaded bars. As the industry standard is moving towards these “double-strength” rebar bolts, Tentec offers foundation tensioners that can be used with both 75 ksi and 150ksi fasteners. As with the new WTB tools, the unique positive stop overstroke protection is incorporated to prevent seal damage and industry to site personnel.
