Arab Million's Poet Poetess attracts 70 Million Viewers as Saudi Poetess Awakes Reality TV Viewers

Judges showered praise on Saudi poetess Ayda Al-Jahani who recited a historical poem that spoke of the importance of women in society, drawing references from Islam, Greek mythology and Arabic literature.

Al-Raha Beach Theater had a 2,000-strong audience listening earnestly to each of the poets, bursting into cheers at the end of every poem and encouraging their favorites to keep their spirits high.

Al Jahani’s poems have so far concentrated on the struggles of women as poets and focuses on striving to empower her fellow female poets to succeed in becoming the best they can be in an art form dominated by men.
