During upbeat times, navigating the maze of financial, legal and psychological issues that arise in a divorce can be a challenging and daunting process. But add to that a falling Dow, wide-spread job losses, shrinking retirement funds and upside-down mortgages, and you have the overwhelming situation in which many Americans who are seeking a divorce currently find themselves.
