March 2, 2009 - PRLog -- Denver – For the past several months Team Jaclyn, a group of volunteers formed to raise money to help Jaclyn Perea raise money for a kidney transplant, has been asking for donations. Jaclyn has been diagnosed with Juvenile Nephronophthisis Type 1; a genetic disorder that destroys the kidneys of young adults. She is in need of a kidney transplant.

“We’re declaring this Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 Mocha-Jac-a-Late Day,” said Jim Malmberg, media spokesperson for  Team Jaclyn. We’re asking people to donate the money that they would normally spend on coffee to Jaclyn.  “So far, we have managed to raise more than $18,000 but our goal is $50,000, so we have a ways to go,” said Malmberg.

Anyone interested in donating can find Jaclyn’s donation page at www.cotaforjaclynp.com. The site is hosted by the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA); a non-profit organization. All donations for Jaclyn are tax deductible.

In addition to cash donations, Team Jaclyn is also seeking donations of merchandise and services  from merchants and manufacturers in Colorado for a silent auction to be held in April for Jaclyn. Any one interested in donating for this event should contact Jim Malmberg directly at 818-728-1100.
