Latino Diabetes Incentive Program Offers Free Glucose Meters Free Watch And Financial Assistance To Latino Medicare Diabetics
 
Jan. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Government-Diabetes.org today launched the new Latino Diabetes Incentive Program which provides cost-effective care to the U.S. Latino and spanish speaking population with diabetes on medicare. The program has set up a national line for Spanish-speaking patients by providing toll free  communications in Spanish, government diabetes educational material,software and financial assistance. The new service offers bi-lingual operators to help  Latinos to take charge of their diabetes and improve diabetes care among Latino medicare beneficiaries.

After researching barriers to good diabetes care among Latino medicare beneficiaries Government-Diabetes.Org developed health education materials and tools to deliver cost effective medicare diabetic supplies to the Latino population in all 50 states Peurto Rico and US territories.


For all latino diabetics on medicare and those who are handicapped, sixty-two to sixty-five or older, the program offers a free diabetic watch,plus assistance with necessary home repairs, for example, replacement of leaky roofs, porch repairs, plumbing and building of modern indoor restroom facilities. Repairs that are essential and necessary for daily existence. Charles Greene, director for Government Diabetes.Org located in Washington, DC has reported, "There are free watches for every state plus billions of dollars in assistance earmarked for Latinos previously diagnosed as medicare diabetic.

Public and private funds are now available for latinos to repair homes, start a business, consolidate debts and any worthwhile purpose." In addition, he reported how new financial resources have been committed to help Latino and ethnic diabetics get job training and re-enter the job market. "Now is the time for latino diabetics to act if they need money, Wall Street has no effect on theses funds," urged Greene. He also revealed that several reduced-cost and free programs now exist to help Latino diabetics and the economically disadvantaged who have been diagnosed with diabetes. Such programs include energy assistance, free prescriptions, free diabetic watch,home repair and legal aid.
