All chlorine generators increase pH levels in the pool and the cells need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Even modern “self-cleaning” Nearly four years ago, American SPS set out to solve these problems by automating the acid wash and pH reducing processes. Under strict confidentiality, American SPS has been developing and patenting isolated cell-wash technology that eliminates the need to manually clean cells or add acid to the pool. The system works by isolating water inside the cell, then slowly infusing a small measured amount of acid into the isolated water. The pH level within the cell drops to a level low enough to dissolve all mineral deposits that may have built up in that day’s operation. After cleaning is complete, the low-pH solution is flushed back into the pool, which slightly reduces the pH level within the pool. The system also infuses extra acid into the pool throughout the week to ensure pH levels remain balanced. Eliminating the reverse polarity function extends the cell life and enables the use of a unique “X” cell coating formulation that increases cell life by 50%. The “X” cell comes with a 12,000 hour warranty instead of the 8,000 hour warranty traditionally found in the market. “The great thing about this technology is that it’s accessible; it gives much more value to the homeowner at about the same price paid for a standard chlorine generator today”, said Mr. Eyal, the President of American SPS.
