Dr. Jacob D. Steiger, Florida-based facial plastic surgeon, joins hospital staff

Jan. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Ivy League-trained facial plastic and reconstruction surgery specialist Jacob D. Steiger, M.D. has secured admitting privileges at two area hospitals.

Dr. Steiger, who recently opened Steiger Facial Plastic Surgery in Delray Beach, has been approved as a medical staff member at Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center.  Dr. Steiger currently performs surgeries at both hospital locations for patients from throughout South Florida and beyond, with consultations and non-surgical services taking place at his private practice location.

Delray Medical Center, named as one of America’s top 50 hospitals, and West Boca Medical Center are both part of the Tenet South Florida health care network.

A native of South Florida, Dr. Steiger is one of only a handful of area physicians whose practice is solely dedicated to plastic surgery of the face and nose.  His areas of expertise include facial rejuvenation procedures (facelift, brow lift, fat grafting, chemical peels), rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), otoplasty (ear pinback), scar revisions, and facial MOHS reconstruction.  Among the advanced techniques he offers are vertical facelifts, which utilize a three-dimensional approach to correct lax skin and ligaments while restoring facial volume with fat micrografting, and deep plane facelifts, which treats the underlying tissue layers and muscles to provide a longer-lasting rejuvenation benefit.  

The surgical services Dr. Steiger provides are complemented by a number of non-surgical interventional procedures, including facial fillers, Botox treatments, the full range of skin resurfacing options and liposculpturing.  He recently was selected by the manufacturers of EVOLENCE®, a new, long-lasting dermal filler recently approved by the FDA, to train other physicians in the application of the product.

Board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Steiger served as chief resident of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and received fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Health System.  He served as a faculty member with the University of Michigan’s Division of Facial Plastic Surgery prior to returning to South Florida to open his practice.  He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
