Haifa Hosts Seminar on Maritime Security

Representatives from defense, intelligence and homeland security organizations will meet for a one-day seminar in Haifa to discuss the sharing of information on maritime security.
 
Nov. 24, 2008 - PRLog -- Representatives from defense, intelligence and homeland security organizations  will meet for a one-day seminar in Haifa to discuss the sharing of information on maritime security on
November 24.

Held annually, the seminar aims to enhance information-sharing and promote interoperability among the participating navies and agencies. The participants will discuss approaches taken by different countries to tackle maritime security threats and initiatives to enhance maritime security.

This year, the participants will be also updated on changes in The Automatic Identification System. AIS is a system used by ships and Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) principally for identification and locating vessels.
