Nina Bell is Back in a Holiday Mystery!

Popular character stars in novella in time for the holidays

Nov. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- Nina Bell, one of author Devon Ellington’s most popular protagonists, is back after a two-year hiatus as the focus of  TOO MUCH MISTLETOE, a comic mystery set in New York’s East Village of 1993.  Nina, an orphan and recent college graduate, trying to make a life in the theatre, is pulled into the disappearance of a college friend, and suddenly it seems like every man she meets wants to kiss her under the mistletoe.  Pretty soon, it’s a toss up as to which is the bigger mystery – her friend’s disappearance, or her complicated love life!
Nina Bell debuted in the mystery serial TAPESTRY, which ran on Keep It Coming from 2004-2006, two episodes per week.  Bell quickly developed a loyal fan following, and her creator has been deluged with requests for more Nina Bell adventures ever since the serial ended.  But Ellington, who also writes the popular paranormal Jain Lazarus Adventures, released by FireDrakes Weyr Publishing (HEX BREAKER released in August of 2008; OLD-FASHIONED DETECTIVE WORK will release in spring of 2009), as well as publishing under a half a dozen names in both fiction and non-fiction, put Nina on the back burner for awhile.
“I was exhausted,” Ellington admitted.  “I wrote four serials (a mystery, a western, a paranormal, and an action/adventure/pirate) for nearly two years, two episodes of each per week.  I needed a break, a change.  But I missed Nina, and, since her fans missed her too, I decided it was about time to bring her back.”
Ellington has more adventures planned for Nina Bell, and through Nina’s growth, the readers will experience the growth and change of New York City over the 1990s and perhaps even into the twenty-first century.  “If the interest is there, there’s plenty for Nina to get involved with,” says Ellington.  “We’re not going to stay in 1993, and she’s not going to stay twenty-two forever.  She’ll mature.  But she’ll retain her slightly strange view of the world and her penchant for tumbling into trouble, with the best possible intentions.”
The novella is only $2.99, available as a digital download from Dragon’s Treehouse Press.  To read an excerpt of TOO MUCH MISTLETOE, visit http://www.devonellingtonwork.com/ninabell.html.  Purchase link follows the excerpt.
