Audio Pronunciation for Baby Names Makes Debut on BabyNameGuide.com

This new audio pronunciation feature was added to some of the Baby Name Guide Categories this Fall 2008. Baby Name Guide Categories will be updated with this new technology over the next couple years (over 30 categories in all).

Expecting parents have the chance to listen to the pronunciation of baby names with a click of their mouse. They have the chance to hear how the baby names are meant to heard without having to guess the pronunciation. This new tool takes full advantage of the Internet and gives parents a better understanding of origins and show how origins can change the pronunciation of certain baby names.

Some key features include – the ability to compare baby name pronunciations side by side with streaming audio, so there is no need to wait for the audio file to load.  There is also no external player to download, since the audio file is self-contained in its own player. You can open multiple players with ease to compare one baby name to another. Each file is sampled at 128 bit, so the quality is outstanding. A professional voice-over talent was brought in to the give the pronunciations a flawless finish.

The player itself gives the parents the ability to pause, stop and replay each baby name's pronunciation. Visitors can open and close players with a snap and scroll down the screen without losing the audio player. The player itself is small and compact. There's no pop-up window to close or bulky external audio player to get in your way. You can also open multiple players on each page to compare baby names.
