MediaPro University has teamed up with Carnival Cruise lines to launch MediaPro’s first 5 day/4night digital photography workshop cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico.   For the first time MediaPro photography students can learn the art and techniques of photography from top industry professionals while enjoying all that a Carnival cruise has to offer.   “Carnival is very excited to become MediaPro University’s seagoing campus, and we look forward to welcoming the students on board Carnival’s Paradise.” said Vicki Tomasino – Western Regional Vice President, Carnival Cruise lines.

The workshop sails December 15th, 2008 from Long Beach, California and is open to photographers or photography lovers of any skill level.  Workshop fee to participate in the December sailing is $1,250.00 per person and includes cost of workshop participation, cruise and basic cruise amenities.  (Some conditions and restrictions apply) www.mediaprouniversity.com

The December workshop covers the areas of travel and nature photography and will be taught by Professor Rick Rosen.  Rosen has been a professional photographer for over thirty years."It's my hobby, my profession, the subject that I teach to students and my artistic passion." He began taking photographs and printing in his own darkroom at the age of 8. Later in his career, Mr. Rosen was asked by renowned photographer Ansel Adams to teach at his workshops in Yosemite where, by observing this master, he was also able to refine his own skills in black and white photography, composition and lighting. "The thing I cherish most from my time with Ansel," Rosen adds,” was discovering ways to capture the beauty of nature as it unfolds rather than trying to control it."

Workshop cruises are offered monthly with various destinations and photography class topics to choose from.  MediaPro University provides students with hands on, real world photography experience, and teaches students everything needed to pursue professional level employment opportunities.  Students can choose to take one workshop or elect to participate in a complete course curriculum and earn a program certificate in photography.   Enrollment is now open at www.mediaprouniversity.org or participation can be booked by calling MediaPro University’s toll free number 1-800-541-3847.

“We very excited to have to chance to work with Carnival Cruises, and feel that the combination of the photo opportunities on board ship and at each port of call, coupled with the personal attention and guidance our staff of working professional photography professors provide, will give our students a unique opportunity to build the skills and professional portfolio needed to fast track them to the top of any employer candidate list.”  Commented Eric Blair – Founder, MediaPro University

MediaPro University is a virtual university serving the needs of students seeking to improve their skills or who wish to enter the exciting world of media as a photography or videography professional.  Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, MediaPro University specializes in organizing and operating educational workshop events in locations around the world.
