By: Aster Data Systems Who: Tasso Argyros, CTO and co-founder, Aster Data Systems Bio: Tasso is the CTO and co-founder of Aster Data Systems, where he is responsible for leading product development and innovations in the Aster nCluster analytic database architecture. Prior to Aster, Tasso was a member of the Stanford University Distributed Systems Group where he investigated network and software issues involved in the design and implementation of large-scale data clusters. Tasso is a recipient of a Stanford Graduate Fellowship and holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens where he conducted research in data mining and databases while building a Web analytics engine and search algorithms for temporal databases. Tasso is currently on leave from Stanford University, where he had been pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science. What: Tasso will participate in a TOOL TALK panel session moderated by Krish Krishan, industry analyst and data warehouse pundit. Together with the panelists, Tasso will examine various ways companies can solve business intelligence challenges with advanced data warehousing tools, as well as provide technical considerations when implementing such systems.
