Ian G. Baird has been named an honored member in science by Princeton Premier.

Ian G. Baird, founder and executive director of Global Association for People and the Environment, has been chosen for inclusion in the 2008-2009 Princeton Premier Registry.

PRLog (Press Release)Jun 27, 2008 – Ian G. Baird is the founder and executive director of Global Association for People and the Environment, a nonprofit society registered in BC, working on community development projects in Laos.  In this capacity, Ian is responsible for overseeing all of the organizations daily operations as well as creating strategies and philosophies to increase productivity.  Additionally, Ian engages in fundraising and is a consultant to CIDA and coordinator for the Laos/Canada Fund for Local Initiatives. He was awarded a Canadian graduate scholarship, a doctoral scholarship, the Olav Slaymaker scholarship in Environment, a graduate entrance scholarship from the University of British Columbia, the David F. Strong research fellowship for excellence in graduate studies from the University of Victoria and a research grant from the CBIE.  Ian holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Arts degree with distinction in geography from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in geography and environmental science from the University of Victoria.  He speaks five languages, has published dozens of journal articles as well as six books, including Knowledge in Fisheries Science and Management and over a hundred book chapters and articles.  He has more than two decades of experience in research, consultancy and program coordination in the fields of environment, science and community development and is widely known and greatly admired for his expertise, achievement and manner.  When Ian is not engaged in his duties as the executive director of the Global Association for People and the Environment, he enjoys reading, travel and being with family and friends.

Baird is being included in the 2008/2009 Princeton Premier Registry alongside the most accomplished business leaders and professionals of every industry from around the globe.
