Web comic anthology now offered on Amazon

According to half-Hawaiian, half-robot Kepa, “This book contains 52 comics that are all unsolicited homosexual love letters to the author's friends and acquaintances. Truly a chilling look into the author's sexual obsessions. Also contains a bonus half-sized comic that is instead about how horses are neat.  Stay off my property.”

But Y2Christ-lite (y2cl) offers much more than a terrifying view of homo-eroticism and a love of the equine. This comic, originally created as a Web comic by Bremerton, Washington-based artist J Horsley III, takes a not-so-subtle look at the nuances of daily living, the friendship between like minds and the topics which most people so often contemplate but never have the confidence to reveal in public.

Horsley's strips about touch-and-go topics have been combined into an anthology now available on Amazon and through the artist's personal Web sites.  The release of the comic comes as Horsley's work has been gaining attention on the West Coast.  Even Parry Gripp, lead singer for Santa Barbara-based pop-punk band Nerf Herder, whose music was featured as the theme to Joss Whedon cult phenomenon “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” noticed the in-your-face humor of the Web strips.  “I love those pieces you did!” he said.  Chances are, other readers will, too.

Influenced in style and humor by comics such as Calvin and Hobbes, Wizard of Id and Boondocks, y2cl is a tumultuous, laugh-out-loud romp through the psyche of its creator. With wit, energy and insight, y2cl is certain to give any reader several eye-rolling moments – if they can stop laughing long enough to produce the movement.
