Electric bike manufacturer expands into 13,000 sq-ft Boulder, CO facility

Optibike doubles workforce and expands as customers seek relief from gas prices.
 
June 5, 2008 - PRLog -- Boulder, CO; While sales of big trucks and SUV’s are hitting all time lows, sales of American made electric bikes are booming as cost conscious consumers are looking for alternatives to $4 a gallon gas.  Optibike, the only electric bike manufactured in volume in the USA has doubled its Boulder, CO based workforce in 2008 and is now increasing its manufacturing space by taking over a former Beech Aircraft building in Boulder to accommodate a 230% increase in production.

The Optibike is powered by the patented Motorized Bottom Bracket (MBB) which allows the rider to add their pedal power to the motor power for a harmonious balance of electric power and exercise.  Powered by the largest lithium battery available in an electric bike (20ah, 36v) the Optibike has a range of 50 miles with a 35mph top speed.  No registration, insurance, or license is required in most states (check with your local and state government.)  The Optibike is in the Ferrari class of electric bikes- each bike hand built to customers specifications with prices ranging from $4995-$12,995.
