In all seriousness though, have you ever stopped to think, how is my company’s driving?

In 2007, the UK Government introduced the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act.

Sound scary? Well it should do, because under this new legislation, senior executives can be prosecuted for failing in their Duty of Care.

Employers also have obligation under the Road Traffic Acts of 1998/1991 and The Road Vehicle (Construction and Use) regulations 1986 to ensure that their vehicles are safe for drivers.

This legislation makes it important for companies to carry out risk assessment, in order to identify potential road risk and implement necessary risk reduction strategies. This is even more important when you consider that traffic accidents have cost the nation £32 billion in lost productivity and ill health of workers.

How then do you go about this risk management? Well one of the most effective ways is by using vehicle tracking systems.
