May 16, 2008 - PRLog -- LA Shorts Fest honors filmmakers who have achieved excellence in short films. Accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Festival is the largest, most recognized short film festival in the world.  This year's Festival will include a week of panels, parties, interactive and entertaining events also exploring the emerging markets of online and mobile content delivery.  The Festival is also accepting creative music video or commercial entries, and offers distribution opportunities to all short content creators, not limited to Festival submissions. LA Shorts Fest is the largest short film festival in the world. The festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences.  In past years, 30 participants have earned Academy Award nominations, with 9 filmmakers actually taking home the Oscar. They have honored some of Hollywood’s legends of the past: Charles Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Robert Wise; along with actors Martin Landau, James Woods, Gary Oldman and directors Tim Burton, Bryan Singer, Jan de Bont and Paul Haggis.
