PRLog (Press Release) –
Mar 23, 2008 – Monthly eCommerce Review: ZimSeller.com
ZimSeller.com is a Zimbabwean Supermarket selling a range of products including Zimbabwean food and recipes, fuel coupons, cell phones, generators and groceries online for delivery in Zimbabwe. Recently, ZimSeller.com announced the addition of solar panels and solar power accessories to its range of existing products. Zimseller.com is a fairly new entrant in the online Zimbabwe grocery shopping industry and has built a reputation for low priced groceries and fast delivery in Zimbabwe. The online shop has steadily been expanding its range of products since the beginning of 2008. Not too long ago It only had a narrow range of food items in the groceries category. It recently added cell phones as a new product category . Now ZimSeller.com customers can place orders for solar panels for delivery in Harare and Zimseller.com can arrange for a qualified electrician to set up the solar system in the customer’s home in Zimbabwe. Other products in stock are fuel coupons, construction materials, computers, stationery and gift vouchers. There are already a few online retailers offering similar services but for a discerning customer, Zimseller.com is much cheaper than the other shops and has a huge number of products in stock to select from. Zimseller.com also has a public auction web page where members of the public can sell their items for free (http://www.auction.zimseller.com) ZimSeller.com gets its products from a number of wholesale and retail shops in Zimbabwe referred to as “Harare Vendors”. Other products are imported from neighbouring countries, especially South Africa. Customers can pay with PayPal or by credit card through Nochex. Delivery costs only £5. Compared to other online Zimbabwe superstores, Zimseller.com has by far the largest selection of products in stock. Zimseller.com customers are invariably Zimbabweans living abroad who help look after relatives in Zimbabwe, a country suffering from hyper-inflation, a persistent cash crisis and shortages of essential consumer goods including fuel. For instance, Constance Mudzuri is a single mum living in Scotland who buys groceries for her mum who looks after her 9 year old son in Unit K, Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. She also buys exercise books and other “back to school” supplies from Zimseller.com. Helen Summers who lives in Surrey, England has elderly parents in a nursing home in Borrowdale, Harare to whom she sends groceries every month. She finds it easier to buy them groceries and have them delivered to their home for only £5, the same cost that she gets her groceries from her favourite supermarket in the UK. Jabulani Sibanda is a nursing student in Bristol and is building a house in Harare. He buys his building materials from Zimseller.com which are delivered at the construction site in Harare. He used to send money to his brother in Harare to buy cement and other required materials but getting cash from the banks started becoming quite a challenge in 2007 and this slowed down the progress of his construction project. Since his first order on Zimseller.com it is now business as usual. For more information, please visit the website http://www.zimseller.com.
