More than 200 industry leaders to attend the Concentrated Photovoltaic Summit’ 08 in Madrid

The first commercially focused Concentrated Photovoltaic Summit (Madrid, April 1-2) has confirmed 200 attendees, 2 platinum sponsors (Solfocus and Gold &Green Energy) and Titán Trackers, Suntrackers, Spire Semiconductors as exhibitors.

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 14, 2008 – The first commercially focused Concentrated Photovoltaic Summit (Madrid, April 1-2) hasconfirmed 200 attendees, 2 platinum sponsors (Solfocus and Gold &Green Energy) and Titán Trackers, Suntrackers, Spire Semiconductors as exhibitors.
More than 200 attendees including Instituto de Energía Solar – Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Emcore, SolFocus, Abengoa Solar, SENER, Spectrolab, Concentración Solar La Mancha, Isofotón, Solar Systems, Sol3g, Guascor Fotón, ISFOC, CENER, JX Crystals, Green & Gold Energy, University of Science and Technology of China , CPV Consortium and many more are already confirmed to be at the conference.

Commenting on the Concentrated Photovoltaic Summit, Gary D. Conley, SolFocus CEO said, “The pace at which Concentrated Photovoltaics is moving has accelerated dramatically in the past year. With this rapid acceleration towards commercialization there is an increasing need for education on the technology and deployment opportunities which have the potential to reshape the solar energy market. The Concentrated Photovoltaic Summit 2008 is being held at the right time to meet the need for greater industry visibility and collaboration.” Pedro Banda, Director of ISFOC (Institure of Concentration Photovoltaics) says “The future looks promising for CPV. It is to become a very competitive technology and will quickly bring quality and reliable products into the market”

Mr Banda oversees a number of modules that are already in construction or on the ground in ISFOC, Spain, including the Solfocus module itself. “Predictions of less than 3€/W at system level are likely to become effective in 2010, which will bring solar electricity prices closer to the 0.1€/kWhr target” he says “CPV is as an industry on the brink of commercialisation, it deserves a space in its own right within the PV industry.
