Dec. 28, 2007 - PRLog -- Peachtree Hills Place, http://www.peachtreehillsplace.com, a residential community offering a continuum of care for members ages 55 and older, is bringing a message of wellness and health awareness to the children of Morris Brandon Elementary School in Buckhead. Representatives of the community announced the kick off of HealthMPowers with the school’s PTA in October.

“The members of our communities focus on wellness through exercise, activity, intellectual stimulation and social interaction,” said Andy Isakson, Managing Partner of Isakson Barnhart, developer of Peachtree Hills Place and Park Springs in Stone Mountain. “By sponsoring HealthMPowers, we are impacting another generation’s attitudes toward living well through healthy behaviors.”

HealthMPowers is a unique health promotion program aimed at helping students choose health-enhancing behaviors, which are critical for both academic success and long-term health. Along with in-class instruction, students receive high-tech, interactive lessons in mobile units. The lessons are presented by HealthMPowers educators in a memorable and interactive way using state-of-the-art technology, hands-on demonstrations and a 500-square-foot mobile classroom. HealthMPowers programs are also available for teachers, school staff and families and include personal health assessments and a staff pedometer program.

“We appreciate Peachtree Hills Place’s sponsorship of an age-appropriate health program for our students, staff and families,” Karen Evans, principal. “We can already see our students making healthier choices, and we’re discovering new ways to make the school environment healthier for everyone.”

The HealthMPowers program will move from school to school during the 2007-2008 school year, providing engaging health lessons to Georgia students. For more information on HealthMPowers, call Christi Kay at 404-785-7251 or visit the HealthMPowers Web site at http://www.healthmpowers.org.

Peachtree Hills Place will eventually become home to those who seek to live a secure, independent lifestyle with on site access to continuum of care options.  When completed, Peachtree Hills Place will include 274 independent residences – consisting of 266 villas and eight single-family homes – and 36 skilled nursing and memory care suites.   Assisted living care will also be offered on site.  All Peachtree Hills Place members will enjoy a full slate of amenities, on-site retail establishments, dining, full service spa, and fitness center.

Isakson Barnhart is Georgia’s developer of nationally recognized, award-winning residential communities for those age 62 and over.  The company’s vision to provide amenity-rich, independent living for discerning adults was born out of the personal experiences of the family of Ed and Julia Isakson after their difficult search for a community that would provide an active lifestyle combined with on-site health care. This mission manifested itself in Park Springs, the company’s flagship property in Stone Mountain.  Park Springs was nationally recognized by the 50+ Housing Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as the recipient of the 2005 Platinum Award for best large CCRC as well as the Gold Award for interior design. Now, Isakson Barnhart introduces another award-winning residential community in Peachtree Hills Place, named the best “On the Boards” large CCRC by the same group in 2006.  Isakson Barnhart has carefully selected Life Care Services, LLC, the leading management company of senior communities in the nation, to partner in the planning and management of Peachtree Hills Place and Park Springs.  For more information, visit http://www.peachtreehillsplace.com or call 404-467-4900.
