The beloved host appears in support of children's music title, Christmas Sing Along November / December 2007

Nov. 3, 2007 - PRLog -- New York, N.Y:  Bob McGrath, “Bob on Sesame Street” is beginning his 39th year on Sesame Street and has bridged two generations of viewers as one of the original hosts.  Beloved by many as Sesame Street’s music teacher, Bob has performed thousands of family pop, educational and holiday concerts for audiences who are now bringing their children or “Sesame Seeds” to see and hear their friend Bob.

McGrath started his own music label “Bob’s Kid’s Music” to bring good music and the best musicians to his young audience.  He produced “Christmas Sing Along” with the same object in mind.  Working with Mike Renzi, Sesame Street’s musical director, the pair hired a wonderful ensemble of guest musicians to star on the album including:

Saxophonist Lou Marini ( Blues Brothers Band , Saturday Night Live Band , Frank Zappa , Aerosmith) ; NY Pops percussionist and Broadway music composer James Saporito ; Blue Note recording artist and jazz bassist Bobby Cranshaw (Sonny Rollins , Ella Fitzgerald, Grant Green, Oscar Peterson) ; Children’s television and Broadway music composer / guitarist Jack Cavari  ; Drummer Buddy Williams (Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan , Michael Jackson) .

In addition to his role as music teacher on Sesame Street, Bob is a successful author, recording artist and concert performer.  His newest Book, “Oops: Excuse Me Please!” and Other Mannerly Tales” has received tremendous acclaim His previous Barron’s title, “Uh Oh! Gotta Go!” is still one of the nation’s best-selling potty-training books.

As a result of his interest in music education he has developed several early childhood music curriculums and professional development tools for Alfred Publishing Co. and Educational Activities that enhance academic and literacy skills for classroom teachers.

McGrath’s previous recordings, eight in all, released on “Bob’s Kids Music” have sold over half a million units and have received both Parent’s Choice and American Library Association Awards. The Baby Record and Sing Me A Story have won the Children’s Music Web Award.

Sing Me A Story has just been chosen as one of the five finalists in the 7th annual Independent Music Awards for best Children’s Album, featuring the song “Everyone Asked About You”.

Bob is the father of five children and eight beautiful grandchildren.
