David M. Ward, developer of the site, knows how difficult it is to build a successful law practice from scratch, because he did it, twice. "When I first opened my own practice, I had no experience, no clients, no contacts, and no money," he says. "It went downhill from there."
Eventually, he built a successful solo law practice but had to start over again after a series of failed business ventures. Ward's story is detailed in, "What I learned about marketing in law school," one of the most popular articles on his web site.
Ward is also the creator of, "The Referral Magic Marketing Program for Lawyers," which, he believes, is the best selling legal marketing program in the world. More than 5,000 legal professionals, in over a dozen countries, are using his program to get more clients and increase their income.
The Attorney Marketing Center recently added a blog and changed the name of the newsletter to, "'The Prosperous Lawyer," to reflect the site's expanded scope. "Marketing is only half the equation," says Ward who was a personal injury lawyer for twenty years before becoming a marketing consultant. "What good is money if you have no time to enjoy it, or you have to sacrifice your values, your health, or your relationships?"
The Attorney Marketing Center began in 1998 as a support site for Ward's legal marketing course. Future plans include new products and services to support lawyers in achieving success.
