FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Aug 08, 2007 – Boston, MA: Only one week after East Coast post-indie neophytes Fugitive Kind’s self-produced debut offering Give In EP hit the digital shelves on iTunes, the emails were already flying fast and furious. Captivated by the powerful pipes and dramatic songcraft of front woman Lydia Marsala, All-Star producer Ed Stasium signed on to immediately record and produce Fugitive Kind’s full-length album, planned for release summer ’08.

Stacium has an apparent predilection for the strong leading lady, having previously produced projects from notable femme fatales ranging from Joan Jett to Gladys Knight, in addition to an impressive cast of less female rock luminaries such as Living Colour, The Ramones, and The Talking Heads, to name but a few. The rockist tendencies of Fugitive Kind’s post-indie sound apparent on Give In EP seem to be sympathetic to the ears of one credited with transitioning popular music from the 80’s grit of Motorhead to the 90’s grunge of Soul Asylum and beyond.

Recording with a revamped line-up, featuring the talents of ex-Freefall bassist Ben Feltner, YouTube drum wizard Matt “Iron” Johnson, avant-pop Water Melon Robot guitar alumnus James Therrien, backing band leader Lydia Marsala’s distinctive powerhouse vocal style, the Fugitive Kind musical style reads like a neo-soul Arctic Monkeys, or if The Cold War Kids crooner Nathan Willett were fronting a sophisticated Victorian punk band, only sexier. And female.

The band will be recording in Stasium’s remote Durango, CO studio through September 07, and will be debuting new material for local fans live at a showcase in the Allston Rock Village Street Fair late Sept.
