Aug. 1, 2007 - PRLog -- An Icy Step To Oblivion was my first published book at the age of 42.
I have been writing for just over a year, the inspiration came from within me when in a dead end job where most of my work colleagues ‘surfed’ the internet to relieve boredom in between callers in a call centre. I started writing a
chapter a day of a short story and sending it to my fellow workers. However my work colleagues loved it and it gave me the confidence to try something a bit more ambitious.

‘An Icy Step To Oblivion’ came from growing up on the edge of the New Forest in Ringwood renamed Ringhurst in the story although anyone who knows the town would recognise many of the landmarks described in the story and a love for that area I still have now and a growing concern for global warming and it's possible side effects.
‘90 Minutes Is Not Enough’ -  I would dedicate to my passion for AFC Bournemouth and a journey supporting them round mainly the lower leagues of English football of over thirty five years where my enthusiasm is still as
strong. I have tried to reflect that passion within the mythical characters that come to life playing, managing and supporting Redbourne Rovers in their magical first season in the football league .

I have always loved reading and really enjoy James Patterson also John Francombe novels because of the way his stories flow and always keep you wanting more and John Grisham stories.

Now that my book is published I feel a sense of satisfaction but a desire to write more and get my name known.  I believe in spontaneity when it comes to writing, I usually have an ending in mind but the path to that conclusion comes to me as the story unfolds. I am generally a chapter ahead in my mind. Any research I generally do as and when it is needed.  I did find it challenging working and writing at the same time, editing my work evenings after a long and tiring day.

My parents and many friends have read both novels and enjoyed them tremendously. Probably more have read the football novel because they fans of various clubs.

I have written another book which is about to be published and I have the threads of a new book in my mind. My plans for the future is to keep on writing, it inspires and fulfils me.

About the book - An Icy Step to Oblivion:
The story is set in England 30 years into the future; but it is an England vastly changed due to global warming. The polar ice caps have melted, causing vast areas of the coast line to be flooded. To compound the problem, temperatures have plummeted creating incredible hardship for all.
The story plots the fear, struggle and bravery of three close families and the local Vicar in a small town in the New Forest; as their faith and beliefs are tested to the full by the release of the incarcerated demonic Gorgones from ancient Greek times. The friends must save their town and the multitudes; who inadvertently are ready to take an icy step to oblivion.
The conflict between good and evil ensues, with possible tragic and doomsday consequences; culminating in a nail biting ending.

About the book - 90 Minutes Is Not Enough:
Have you ever wondered if your local town's football team could make it in the Nationwide League and how they would get on? "90 Minutes Is Not Enough" is the story of just that. Meet the players, manager and the somewhat unorthodox chairman of Redbourne Rovers as they go from the obscurity of non league football to the glory of being the winners of the first domestic final in England played at the new Wembley in their inaugural season in the league. Follow their progress in a breathtaking rollercoaster of a journey around the football grounds of England, spiced with a bit of romance, a lot of skulduggery and some very unexpected twists. Essentially though, it is all about the beautiful game and the dreams of success that are encompassed within it by every fan, player and manager involved with it.
