Texas Southern University Tigers, Southern University Jaguars Face Off In 2019 State Fair Showdown

DALLAS - Oct. 7, 2019 - PRLog -- The State Fair Showdown, an electrifying gridiron match between the Texas Southern University Tigers and Southern University Jaguars, is returning to the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Fair Park (3750 The Midway, Dallas, TX 75215), Saturday, October 19, 2019. Kickoff for the Southwestern Athletic Conference rivalry between the Houston, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based teams will begin at 2:00 p.m., come for football and stay for the bands. At the end of regulation is the highly anticipated "5th Quarter," TSU's Ocean of Soul and SU's Human Jukebox marching bands will take the field for a must-see Battle of the Bands. General admission tickets will include access to the State Fair of Texas and are available online for $28.00 at statefairshowdown.com.

A family affair for all ages, the State Fair Showdown celebrates the athletic, academic and pioneering achievements of historically black college and university (HBCU) students, graduates, and faculty. Ahead of Saturday's game is the free State Fair Showdown College Fair, powered by Lone Star Sports and Cedar Valley College, Thursday, October 17, 2019, in the Cedar Valley College Gymnasium, (3030 N Dallas Ave, Lancaster, TX 75134).
