Atlanta's 1st Black Music Awards Show Honors Atlanta's Past, Present & Future Icons

Grammy Award-winning Artist Regina Belle, The Tams, Case, Dave Tolliver, Heston, Hank Stewart, Torion, No Phear, Trav Wright, Uncle Reece and many others will perform at the 1st Ever Star-studded Black Music Awards Show in Atlanta on December 1, 2013

ATLANTA - Nov. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GA – (Nov. 14, 2013) -- The Black Music Association & Academy of America (BMA) proudly present the first ever "Atlanta Black Music Awards Show” on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Center Stage Theater. The Black Music Awards promise to be an extravagant night filled with many memorable moments. The event will honor and celebrate past, present and future icons in the music industry. The star-studded lineup of performers and presenters for the first Black Music Awards spotlights some of Atlanta's best.

Presenters for this star-studded event include WBO Boxing Champ Demetrius Andrade, Atlanta's first Platinum Group - Brick,

Mrs. Georgia US United 2012- Nancy Klausner, Kari Wells of Bravo TV's Married to Medicine, Jazz Great Russel Blake, Harlem Globe Trotter's Tammy Brawner, and Actress Lisa Lauren Smith of BET's Let's Stay Together, Music Moguls Ian Burke and Kevin Shine, Youth Entertainment Journalist Shay'na Fields, Mrs. Bo Talley, and many others.  Additionally, performers include four-time Grammy Award-winning Artist Regina Belle, The Tams, Case, Dave Tolliver, Uncle Reece, Kelani, and many other artists will perform at the event.  The 14 Karat Gold Band will serve as the House Band for the night. BET/Def Comedy Jam Comedian “Pierre” will be the evening's host.  Ms. Nickee of Diva Day International will host the red carpet.

The Red Carpet Event & VIP Reception is from 4:30-5:45 pm.  The awards show kicks off at 6:00 pm sharp. Enclave Lounge will host the After Party.  Honorees include Atlanta Icons'  The Tams; Black Music Hall of Fame recipient Regina Belle; Janice Mathis, Leadership Award;  Brick -Living Legend Award; Organized Noize- Icon Award.   Mr. Joe Beasley will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

This is an exciting time for the City of Atlanta to celebrate, acknowledge, respect, and remember the musical influences of past, present and future entertainers. “Atlanta is a "City of Stars", this is certain to be our biggest event thus far,” says Founder Dr. Rick Warren. “We are delighted to bring our awards gala to the City of Atlanta.”

"Our event was created to commemorate the contributions of music artists in every genre of black music on a local level," says Shanta Hereford, Atlanta chapter president of the Black Music Association.  "I believe it’s needed because it brings the entire black music community together especially when a lot of times there are such divides in the industry. This will be more than just a night of entertainment and celebration; this will also be a music lesson on Atlanta’s music history."

The BMA has hosted its awards gala in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Houston, Chicago, and Detroit.  Past recipients and honorees of the Black Music Awards include but are not limited to legendary artists such as Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Jackson's, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Enclave Lounge is located at 62 3rd Street, Atlanta, GA.   BMA's Award Show After Party will be held immediately after the award show, Sunday night. Guests are encouraged to bring a can good or non-perishable item to help the Black Music Association bless Hosea Feed the Hungry's food bank for the forthcoming holiday season.

Pre-Award Party - Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 @ Enclaves Lounge

Music: Hip Hop/Rap, Reggae, Techno, House and Contemporary R&B.
The event will be hosted by Slab of Gold Bottles Entertainment & D.J. Treymayne.
The Friday night lineup includes performances by Baby D, Young Snead, Styleon Da Empress, Lucky Charm, Tony Bone, Deja Vu, Poohdalini, The Official Breadman and more.
Special invited guest includes Big Cat Records, Mizay Entertainment, Off Da Block Entertainment, Rico Vibes, Smallworld Entertainment, The Star Factor and more.
Doors open at 9 pm. Free admission until 10 pm. $10 cover charge.

Pre-Award Party - Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 @ Enclaves Lounge
Grown Folks night... Music: R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz , Funk and Disco.
The event is hosted by the world famous group, Brick and DJ Fourplay.
Performances and special guest appearances include Eddie Kane, Jr., Gabbie McGee, King Malachi, Dee Lucas and more.
Doors open at 9 pm. Free admission until 10 pm. $10 cover charge.

BMA  Award Show After Party -Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 @ Enclaves Lounge
The After Party is also being held at Enclave Lounge, Sunday night.
The event is hosted by DJ Fourplay & DJ Masen. DJs will be spinning in three different rooms.
Doors open at 9 pm.  Free until 10 pm. $20 cover charge.
