Three new sites added to The Registry of Historic Gaming Locations

Stanford University, a Los Angeles area shopping center and the former site of 'Q*bert' manufacturer among the latest inductions in video game history project
DENTON, Texas - Aug. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The Registry of Historic Gaming Locations, a historical project aimed to catalog important sites to the history of video gaming, has returned with three new entries.

- Stanford University.  This prestigious site was the location for 'Galaxy Game', the first-ever coin operated arcade video game. Atari founder Nolan Bushnell and EA founder and 'Madden Football' creator Trip Hawkins are also among alumni. - http://patrickscottpatterson.com/Location32

- Glendale Galleria.  This Los Angeles County shopping mall was used as a key filming location in 1984's 'Cloak & Dagger' film as well as one of the first two Apple Stores. - http://patrickscottpatterson.com/Location30

- D. Gottlieb & Co.  This Chicago-area site was home of the legendary pinball company that also produced 'Q*bert' in 1982.  The Q*bert character remains popular enough today to have appeared in 2012's 'Wreck-It Ralph' film. - http://patrickscottpatterson.com/Location31

About the Registry of Historic Gaming Locations - Founded in 2011 by Video Game Media Personality Patrick Scott Patterson, the Registry aims to locate and preserve the history of important sites to the development of the video game industry and the culture surrounding it.  Among the previous entries are the former sites of important companies such as Atari and Activision, testing sites of key arcade titles such as 'Donkey Kong' and 'Defender', sites important to eSports history such as Ottumwa, Iowa and filming locations of films such as 'Tron', 'Rocky III', and 'The Karate Kid' that included video game scenes.
