March 1, 2013 - PRLog -- The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), Southwest Florida Chapter will welcome Sharon McAllister, Executive Director of ArtFest Fort Myers, Inc. at its March 11 luncheon, sponsored by Shell Point Retirement Community. The lunch and program will begin at 11:30 a.m. and run to 1:00 p.m. at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Ms. McAllister will share inside information on how ArtFest Fort Myers has evolved since its inception and all that goes into executing this very successful annual event.

Ms. McAllister took over the former "Lee Sidewalk Arts & Crafts Show" in 2000 at the request of  Don Paight, City of Fort Myers Downtown Redevelopment Director, with the understanding that she would form a nonprofit organization and transform it into ArtFest Fort Myers, a juried fine art festival. Under her tutelage, this event has quickly gained national recognition, while bringing an unparalleled art experience to the community. She has been a tireless advocate for the arts in Fort Myers and taken on a variety of leadership roles in the community.

The cost to attend the luncheon meeting is $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers, and $10 for students with advance reservations. Reservations at http://www.fpraswfl.org. Walk-ins are welcome for an additional $5.

The Florida Public Relations Association is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners throughout Southwest Florida who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
