DataSafe is a modern and cost-effective alternative to formerly used protocol printers and wherever security systems data and events have to be recorded with traceability and with protection against data manipulation. DataSafe can directly be connected via RS232 to the data source instead a protocol printer or other interfaces. Typical usage areas include burglary, failure detection, Fire prevention, and access control and patrol registration systems.

The data communication is also compatible with Can B-Protocol 2 used in the automotive industry and engine control units. The DataSafe system combined with DataSafe Manager software complies with the requirements of the BSI 1 for event-/ background recording in alarm control centres. Memory storage left is monitored and uses a RS232 control line to inform the data source when it drops below 10 %. The unit has very low power consumption, which allows system operation even with an emergency power supply. The system uses ATA Flash cards as the removable data storage. Operating temperatures are from –40C to +85C.
