Sign-ups Surge on Irish Diaspora Website RendezVous353

Oct. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- In recent days as many as 75 people an hour have become members of the new worldwide Irish Diaspora social and business network, RendezVous353.com.  Created by friends Richard O’Donnell and Terry McLoughlin, RendezVous353 has been called the “Irish Facebook” due to its ability to connect, inform, and entertain.

A free social networking site launched in New York last May, RendezVous353 (“353” is Ireland’s telephone country code) is rapidly spreading virally as people register to find out about jobs and business opportunities from Irish connections worldwide, in countries as far as apart as the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Qatar and Kazakhstan.

Co-founder Terry McLoughlin is one of those RendezVous353 members based in Kazakhstan, where the construction professional is negotiating with suppliers on a major oil and gas project.

“We knew there was a big, big appetite for a social network site such as this and we’re gratified to see the network now expand so dramatically. We seem to have struck a chord, particularly with those looking to get work abroad,” he said. “RendezVous353 is today’s answer to people landing ‘cold’ in a foreign country, finding out where the Irish congregate and then trying to find if there’s any work along with the do’s and don’ts of that particular place.”  

RendezVous353 is a self-help service by Irish people for Irish people, connecting those who move from Ireland to seek work, connecting Irish business and entrepreneurs with new markets, and linking those of Irish ancestry in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere with their Irish roots.
