Content Requirements

Important

Press Release must announce something new about the organization you are authorized to represent, like -
new product, new service, new award, new merger, new paper/report, new financial results, new company news, etc.

Non-PR content may not be promoted, such as - articles, advertisements, classifieds, reviews, complaints, how-to's, SEO-contests, old news, non company news, news about other companies, affilate links, non-english, duplicate etc!

Unacceptable Content

Following content or promotion thereof is not acceptable -

  1. Adult or mature content, links to or promotion of such content, including - a) Pornographic or nudity. b) Erotica, sexual fantasy, etc. c) Sexual products, toys, etc. d) Sexual services, social/sexual escorts, adult/sexual dating, adult/sexual parties, adult tours, adult models, etc. d) Sexual health, diseases, cures, research, etc. e) Sex tapes. f) Obscene. g) Services specifically for adult industry.
  2. Illegal or promotes illegal activity.
  3. Infringes on copyright, trademark or any other legal rights of others.
  4. Violent, threats, profanity, expletives, inflammatory, hate promoting or racial intolerance
  5. Advocacy against any individual, group or organisation.
  6. Libelous or defamatory.
  7. Grievances, complaints, rip-off reports, scam reports, victim reports, fraud reports, illegal activity reports, feuds, etc.
  8. Litigation, lawsuit, court cases or arbitration unless the release 1) is factually correct 2) mentions court name and case number 3) doesn't mention people from other party 4) doesn't have negative statements without quotes with attribution 5) has been reviewed and authorized by a USA based active law firm 6) has source and contact fields with the law firm info.
    Note: We are unable to distribute such content to PRNewswire even if above conditions are met.
  9. Politics with negative light on any individual, group or organisation.
  10. False or misleading claims.
  11. Illicit drugs, cocaine, marijuana, heroin, cannabis, amphetamines, hallucinogens, etc and drug paraphernalia.
  12. Private and confidential personal information.
  13. Products that are replicas or imitations of designer or other goods.
  14. Distribution of coursework or student essays, or promotion of related websites.
  15. Guns, weapons, ammunition or explosives (e.g., firearms, fighting knives, stun guns).
  16. Betting, gambling or casino-related content.
  17. Tobacco, hookah, electronic cigarettes, nicotine, or related products.
  18. Beer, wine or hard alcohol.
  19. Prescription drugs, pharmaceutical products, HCG, HGH.
    (New government approved product launch by manufacturer is ok).
  20. Affiliate marketing, get rich quick schemes, MLM schemes, coupons for other companies.
  21. Spamming, hacking, cracking, malware, viruses, etc. For example - Youtube downloader.
  22. Content containing links that install software without user's explicit permission or is harmful.
  23. Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords. Machine generated or content with too many spelling or grammatical errors.
  24. Programs that compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails.
  25. Black hat SEO, sale of fans or followers, deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's ranking.
  26. Financial services companies not registered with appropriate government agencies.
  27. Satirical, jokes, pranks, April Fools or containing other misleading or false content.
  28. Violates PRLog Terms of Service.

Limited Distribution

A small number of sites have their own guidelines (Premium2 & above)-

  1. All content should be written in English, with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  2. May not Allege illegal or unethical behavior on the part of another party.
  3. May not Allege breach of contract on the part of another party, or otherwise threaten any party with litigation.
  4. May not make false or misleading claims regarding the identiied sponsor or any third party or the products or services of the identified sponsor of any third party.
  5. Headline Character Count limit: 255 characters, including spaces.
  6. Summary Character Count limit: 255 characters, including spaces, html code for special characters as well. Special characters in headlines have been known to cause a ? in place of the character.
  7. Absolutely no inappropriate use of language or subject matter. This includes what may be perceived as mild or acceptable, so this means No: WTF, LMFAO, bad ass, kick ass, crappy, hell, etc. This is not a comprehensive list, use your best judgement.
  8. No content should be geared towards children/minors.
  9. Do not send duplicate content pieces, or very similar content spread across multiple content pieces.
  10. You must have legal permission/clearance for distribution of any images, video, and content that is subject to copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, rights of privacy, etc. All content must be error-free, comply with applicable law and must not violate the rights of any third party.
  11. All Content, context URLs and their destinations must adhere to these guidelines as well as any promotion of the content on external sites.
  12. Content can not contain major network specific information (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX).
  13. Absolutely no links within content to partners on our distribution list.
  14. No websites embedded in the body of a release
  15. No hidden keywords in a releases source code
  16. Must not link to illicit content
  17. No broken links
  18. ADVERTORIALS: Restriction (Company promotion must be from a legitimate company that can prove validity) - No Scams, pyramid schemes, celebrity impersonations, junk science, etc.

Miscellaneous

  1. PRLog has the right (though not the obligation) to, in PRLog's sole discretion, refuse or remove any content that, in PRLog's reasonable opinion, violates any PRLog policy or is in any way harmful or objectionable to PRLog, their visitors or partners. We charge a 5% processing fee for refunds due to violation of above policies.
  2. You are responsible for the accuracy of the content. PRLog.Org is not responsible for the accuracy of the statements made in the press release.
  3. You grant PRLog.Org a non-exclusive license to publish, copy and distribute your press release. Press releases submitted to PRLog.Org may be distributed to 3rd parties for added exposure, however PRLog.Org is not under any obligation to do so. You also grant PRLog.Org right to do minor corrections, for example spelling mistakes, etc.
  4. PRLog.Org reserves the right to remove or not to publish your press release without assigning any reason.
  5. PRLog.Org and its partners reserve the right to reformat your press release to fit the distribution media.
  6. All content must be in english.

  9. You can submit multiple unique press releases subject to following conditions (to prevent abuse) -
    - Maximum 2 free press releases per day.
    - Maximum 5 free press releases per week.
