SHENZHEN, China - Dec. 25, 2023 - PRLog -- GIGALIGHT, renowned for pioneering long-term research in 8-channel optics, has made a significant breakthrough in the realm of 800G optical modules.

The effectiveness of 800G optical modules relies heavily on the intricate harmony among 8-channel optical signal integrity technology, precise optical design, and meticulous form factor processes. Despite historically receiving less attention within the industry due to productivity and cost concerns, this technology marks a critical milestone in optical advancement, shaping the future landscape. While alternative technologies like 100G/200G PAM4 have been explored to bypass 8-channel optics, they might not align with strategic foresight. GIGALIGHT's 800G SR8 supports two form factors: QSFP-DD and OSFP. It integrates high-performance 112Gbps VCSEL lasers and a 7nm DSP. The electrical host interface operates at 112Gbps PAM4 signal per channel, supporting the CMIS 4.0 protocol version. The module achieves a TDECQ of less than 3dB per channel, with an OMA RXsen sensitivity meeting -5.2dBm @ 2.4E-4 Pre-FEC 53.125GBd, enabling transmission distances of 60 meters (OM3 MMF) and 100 meters (OM4 MMF).
