New Barcelona Face Massage Service Launched

BARCELONA, Spain - May 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Alongside her regular work with pain, women's health and IVF acupuncture support in Barcelona, Ruth Westnidge also works with anti aging facial acupuncture. When those patients started asking for facial massage, the logical step was a massage using Chinese acupuncture points with acupressure for detoxifying, anti aging and the radiance factor.

"I saw acupuncture in China used with facial pathology. I was fascinated, and I saw how the techniques could be used for not only facial problems but also for anti aging work. I trained with two teams of top acupuncture teachers in London, and then brought the work with me when I moved to Barcelona. Then my facial patients started asking if they could have a massage…I was already qualified in massage, but I wanted to combine my knowledge of Chinese Medicine into something that could really help combat stress and leave you feeling fresh again. I wanted to help put the spring back in the step. Plus the acupressure can really rebalance the body's energy systems if its correctly applied. So the new facial massage combines relaxation massage with some of the most important facial points to really take it all to another level."

The massage comes from the Yuan Traditional Medicine College, London and incorporates the most essential acupressure points. The aim is to encourage healthy circulation in the face, boost removal of waste products from skin and muscle cells, and release the tense clenched muscles we often create in the facial area. Smoother better nourished skin leads to a fresher look, stress reduction helps with 'getting your spark back' especially after periods of more intense strain in  life like moving, changing jobs, and being a busy parent.  The sessions are flexible around the client, with or without gentle music and candles, the touch completely adjusted to the individual sensitivities.

Ruth began her acupuncture career in London, UK, treating groups of clients using points on the ears. She worked with this for many years, whilst training in massage, anatomy and physiology and basics of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Next came five and a half years full time undergraduate & postgraduate study of acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping and moxibustion alongside studies of Western medical concepts (LCTA; Middlesex & Westminster universities).

She then moved to Barcelona, Spain and established her Acupuncture Barcelona service initially for English speaking patients. She nows works in Spanish and English, offering acupuncture for IVF, pain, women's health and anti aging work.
