Sept. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- US Rep. and retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Steve Russell is scheduled to speak at “Region on the Rise” luncheon at noon October 2 in the main building at EOC Tech Center. Hosted by Eastern Oklahoma County Partnership (EOCP) and sponsored by FNB Community Bank, business leaders, community leaders and locals are invited to attend; free with RSVP to thight@eoctech.org.

“EOC Partnership is honored to host Congressman Russell and appreciative of his service in the military and elected office,” said EOCP Executive Director Tim Hight. “Congressman Russell is a champion for regulatory reform and is a major supporter of the Oklahoma defense community.”

Rep. Russell’s appearance is a part of an ongoing effort by EOCP to educate the region and provide exposure to key leadership in the areas of job growth and economic development. Russell’s appearance follows a successful luncheon with US Senator James Lankford in April.

Seating is limited, and tickets are free with RSVP to thight@eoctech.org. There will be a question-and-answer portion following Russell’s talk. Anyone with a question for Rep. Russell is encouraged to email the question to thight@eoctech.org.

Rep. Russell represents Oklahoma’s 5th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Previously, he served in the Oklahoma State Senate from 2008-2012. He is perhaps best known for his 21-year career in the U.S. Army, where his unit played a key role in the capture of Saddam Hussein. Russell retired as 2nd Lieutenant Colonel and currently lives with his wife in Choctaw, OK.

The EOCP mission is to act as a resource for creating, promoting, and sustaining jobs and investment in Eastern Oklahoma County. Priorities include business attraction, supporting existing business and catalyzing area transportation and infrastructure improvements.
