By: Actors & Playwrights Collaborative Sunny Side will appear each night with four other one act plays in Series 5 of Manhattan Repertory's 10th Anniversary Celebration. SUNNY SIDE is a short comedy about two lonely elderly strangers who meet and become acquainted in an urban city park. Directed by Jennifer Sandella, Sunny Side stars Amy Losi as Dolly Brady and Philip M. Cook as Seamus O'Malley. Sunny Side won the Kentucky Playwrights New Play Series contest in 2014. PlaywightPhil Paradis' critically acclaimed Soldiers’ Christmas premiered in December on the 100th anniversary of the 1914 Christmas Truce at Northern Kentucky University. His play about Teddy Roosevelt and Stephen Crane set in 1890s New York was a Semi-Finalist for the Kentucky Theatre Association’ Director Jennifer Sandella is Artistic Director for Random Access Theatre, an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, a 2015 resident artist The Drama League and a member of the Director's Lab West ('14). Her recent directing projects include: Pinwheel! a new musical (Random Access Theatre), Blue Window (The Lee Strasberg Institute/NYU) Actor Amy Losi has appeared on stage in lead and supporting roles in over forty comedies and dramas. Her favorite roles include three comic characters in Perfectly Normel People (Off-Bway: Fringe Encores), the title role in And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little (Regional), Maria in Lend Me a Tenor, ten characters in The Dining Room, the abusive, Irish Mother Superior in Eclipsed: The Magdalene Laundries, and Gloria’s sidekick in The Gloria Glitter Show (18 months, Broadway Comedy Club). Her other credits include commercials, film, web, and TV (Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations; Actor Philip M. Cook's other recent appearances include Walter in Becky’s New Car, five characters in Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde,Praed in Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Bernard in Seasons Greetings at Theaterworks, and Tobias in a Delicate Balance on the Connecticut and Westchester theater circuits.
