MicroGold presents a prototype of its new PVD gold coating system

REHOVOT, Israel - June 1, 2015 - PRLog -- MicroGold Ltd is proud to announce the completion of its first prototype of a gold coating machine.    Two years of Research and Development have led to an outstanding achievement for the company:  The completion of a state of the art off-line gold coating machine. MicroGold is now seeking investors for the process-integration and optimization and global marketing of this industrial machine.

“MicroGold has developed an innovative technology for high quality coating of gold for jewelry, watches and   fashion accessories. This coating has unique characteristics, including resistance to abrasion and corrosion, as confirmed by our colleagues at the Ben-Gurion University Faculty of Engineering Sciences. In addition to cost-effectiveness, the process is based on an environmentally clean technology that is far less polluting than any other electro-chemical coating of gold,” explains Gil Touati, CEO of MicroGold Ltd.

Based on experience of more than 20 years in the PVD field, MicroGold’s engineers are now engaged in a process of enhancement of "Gold PVD" to form "HardGold" that creates a harder and enduring layer of gold. The novel technology enables coating jewelry, watches and other items with a special gold layer that is relatively inexpensive and will not peel off over time.

The patented pending technology is used to create a thin layer of gold with a decorative function while other components of the process serve an engineering function with greater adhesive properties.  The result is a gold layer that can serve as coating for jewelry and watches and will last much longer and at the same cost as the currently popular electrochemical gold plating.

The installation of the first industrial machine is scheduled for the second half of 2016.
