Follow on Google News | The right sports to "burn fat"Some physical activities, more than others, can help our body burn fat and thus lose weight
By: Dr Giorgini As a matter of fact, when the amount of energy introduced with nutrition is greater than that consumed by the body (basal metabolism + daily activities), our body transforms the extra energy in "fat deposits". To lose weight, then, you need to reverse the trend: i.e. make sure energy balance is negative (consume more energy than that introduced with food). To do so, we have two good allies, which work even better together: diet and movement. But what are the right sports for those who want to lose weight? The sports activities that can help you lose weight are aerobic. With aerobic activities we mean all those sports in which our body uses oxygen along with carbohydrates and lipids (and minimally protein) to meet the increased metabolic demands. Among the main aerobic activities, we can mention: • running/foot marching • cycling/spinning • cross-country skiing • zumba dancing and dancing in general Once identified the physical activity you like the most, just be patient: constancy and time will award you with progressive and lasting results (especially if physical activity is associated with proper nutrition). 3 rules to get the best from sport: frequency, intensity, and a help from weights To get the best results from exercising, you also need to keep other factors in mind: how often do we have to train? And how intense should our training be? - The ideal would be exercising at least 3 times a week for minimum 30-40 minutes. - The recommended intensity, of course, also depends on how trained you are. It is always good not to exaggerate and gradually increase difficulty. From this point of view, "beginners" start with a disadvantage, as their body, not accustomed to exercise, initially will tend to consume mainly glucose, rather than fat. - Unlike what many think, exercising with weights can also be useful. Although this is an anaerobic activity, using some weights during training (even before an aerobic session) will increase your muscle mass. And having increased muscle mass will help boost your body's energy metabolism. End
