CENTURION, South Africa - March 12, 2015 - PRLog -- The Hands-on Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS) training designed by Paul Mullon of COR Concepts is the first of its kind in Southern Africa. This programme is completely hands-on and is designed to give delegates real experience in working with electronic documents and records. Using Microsoft Sharepoint as a platform, users are taught the basics, and then build a system from scratch. The good news is, this is not purely for IT specialists, as it is designed to be end-user focused. Delegates will learn how to perform document preparation, scanning and indexing using a production scanning hardware and software system.

Electronic (born-digital) documents will be created from templates, using best practices in document control and Microsoft Word properties. Workflows will be created and run, with users taking part as document authors, creators, approvers and publishers.  This is a must-do course, and delegates will feel much more comfortable when implementing back at the office.

“We have been running workshops on Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS) for 7 years now, and the one feedback we have consistently received is that people need hands-on practical experience.  It has always been a challenge to provide this without focusing on the technology.   I am excited that this programme meets a much needed gap, and allows people to experiment in a safe environment, without fear of breaking the system.  Whilst we use Microsoft Sharepoint as a platform, this workshop is designed to be technology neutral, and instead focuses on how to get real value out of the move to electronic.” said Paul Mullon

Records Managers, secretaries and Personal Assistants, IT staff involved in implementing EDRMS

Systems, business unit managers responsible for document and records management, document controllers, business and systems analysts on the EDRMS project and Departmental managers responsible for Records Management amongst others will have a full understanding of the core components that make up an EDRMS system in addition to implementing a classification scheme, have a working knowledge of how to use different types of electronic signatures, create and work with simple document-centric workflows, create approval processes, and implement proper document controls, with check-in and out, and version controls, just to mention a few.

Paul Mullon and Isaac Kolawole (Sharepoint accredited trainer) are specialists in the field of

Electronic Document, Records and Information Management. “Our facilitators are carefully selected to deliver the most value to assist you in applying the course content to your organisations.” said Paul Mullon CEO of COR Concepts (http://www.corconcepts.co.za).  Our EDRMS facilitators all have extensive experience in the design and/or implementation of these systems.
