Winners Announced for Love City Car Ferries' 1st Annual Back-to-School Essay

Love City Car Ferries is proud to announce its winners for its 1st Annual Back-to-School Essay Contest. Winners were chosen from the 5th, 7th, and 9th grades.
 
ST. JOHN, Virgin Islands, U.S. - Nov. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Love City Car Ferries, Inc. announces its "My Virgin Islands, My Future" Back to School Essay Contest winners. The 1st annual contest asked 5th, 7th, and 9th graders to reflect on changes they would like to see in the Virgin Islands and how they think these changes can or may impact their future. Young writers submitted essays from several participating schools.

The essays were judged on creativity and originality of content, grammatical accuracy, logic, and clarity, overall impact and adherence to deadlines and or rules.  One winner was selected per grade and one participating school was also selected randomly as a winner.

The judging was conducted by Board members of Love City Car Ferries, Inc. Students are listed as per the school they attended at the time of the essay submission.

The winning school will receive $1,000 and the 5th, 7th, and 9th grade winners will receive cash prizes in the amounts of $100, $200, and $300 respectively.

*7th Grade Winner, Jayveon Boland of Wesleyan Academy, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

9th Grade Winner, Edlyn Gumbs of Charlotte Amalie High School of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
