KUWAIT CITY - Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announces that it will be holding the “Kuwait International HSE conference and exhibition” (KIHSE-2015) under the high patronage of HE Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Omair, Kuwait’s Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs.

The event will take place on 16 and 17 February, 2015 in the Regency Hotel and Conference Centre in Kuwait City, promoting Kuwait’s commitment to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, and consolidating the country’s leading position regionally and internationally in these areas.

KIHSE-2015 is fully supported and endorsed by the KPC and its subsidiaries, and has attracted a big interest from the oil industry in Kuwait and the GCC region. It aims to become a major drive for HSE awareness, not only in the petroleum sector, but also across all economic and social activities in the country, creating a culture of commitment to a healthy, safe and environment friendly society. This world-class event will run around the main theme of, “We Can Make a Difference to the World.”

With 50 expert speakers coming from the energy and HSE sectors all over the world; the KIHSE conference and exhibition is expected to attract over 400 delegates and business leaders representing hundreds of local and international companies, government agencies and organizations, including major international oil companies (IOCs).

Strong topics and participation:

The Conference programme includes 3 themed tracks for Health, Safety and Environment; along with a set of plenary sessions, to provide an in depth coverage of the key topics related to the development of a sustainable HSE culture.

The plenary sessions will focus on the HSE management practices and strategies in general and will provide a platform to discuss strategic topics:

·         HSE in a changing international oil and gas sector;

·         Moving from the "management system" to Operations Excellence;

·         HSE and profitability.

The three other tracks will provide a set of sessions with highly strategic topics presented by major international experts in the HSE field. The sessions in the Safety track will cover:

·         Employee Engagement for a world-class safety culture

·         Safety Management

·         Process Safety Engineering

·         Sub-Surface and Well Operations Safety

Sessions in the Health track will discuss occupational health and public health themes including:

·         Health Management in the oil and gas sector

·         Occupational health and behavioural changes

·         Public health  and medical facilities in the oil and gas sector

·         Industrial hygiene and ergonomics in the oil and gas secto

The Environment track will focus on the latest and most modern measures and practices used to promote awareness toward ecological issues. Those discussions will be divided into four sessions including:

·         Climate Change and Energy Developments

·         Environmental sustainability

·         Water and Waste Management

·         Environmental Solutions and innovation

“KIHSE-2015 is intended to become a platform for involved oil companies, their prospective suppliers and members of the civil society to meet and network, benefiting from Kuwait’s remarkable advancements in the HSE fields,” said Dr Fatemah Al-Shatti, Chairperson of the KIHSE Steering Committee

H.E. Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Omair will inaugurate the event. Participants are expected to include, in addition to KPC and its subsidiaries, a large number of international and regional oil and gas companies Regional National Oil Companies, HSE consultants and suppliers; oil and gas service providers, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions. Internationally renowned experts will gather to give their insight and support Kuwait and the wider region’s efforts to develop its resources. This will be through either platform presentations within the programme or through interactive poster sessions in the exhibition hall.

Additionally, the KIHSE conference, will be conducting several activities that aim to inform and educate students and younger members of the audience about the advantages of having proactive and forward-leaning HSE Policies and effective management systems, according to KPC sources.

An adjacent specialized exhibition will permit more than 50 companies to showcase the latest in HSE technologies and services. This exhibition will boast national, regional and international companies, providing them with the opportunity to present their latest products and services.

KIHSE is an initiative by KPC, and is organised in collaboration with Global Events Partners Ltd (GEP), a major UK-based event management company affiliated to the dmg::events network.
