Shweeb-Can Corp is a Niagara Falls, ON Canada based start-up company with a vision for a revolutionary 3D transportation system invented by Geoff Barnett and Dan Verhoeve but inspired by by The Jetsons, its called SkySMART. Helping people get to where they want to go faster, with a minimal carbon footprint and by incorporating fitness and exercise into daily commutes; it's all about putting smiles back on the face of commuters at Shweeb-Can Corp.

Shweeb started with one person bullet pods at an amusement park in New Zeland, but now we are aiming to fundamentally change transit forever with two, five and twelve person self-driving, on demand pods that glide along a 3D guideway. With 23 global prospective customers waiting to buy a system, Shweeb SkySMART is poised to be the sustainable transit solution that puts an end to gridlock everywhere. So why PRT you ask? PRT is the on-demand transit missing link between personal transportation and mass transit.

SkySMART removes fossil fuel burning vehicles from our congested roadways and creates a myriad of health related benefits at a much lower cost. Unlike conventional transit which leaves on inconvenient set hourly schedules, Shweeb's SkySMART is an on demand service, meaning it leaves when you arrive saving you precious time. So what's the problem? To date no large scale demonstration project has been built due in part to various past technological shortcomings and venture capitalists looking for sure things in the wake of the economic crisis. In Rotorua, New Zeland the first Shweeb "Bullet Pod System" was built as part of an amusement/ eco-ventures park and it has been running profitably since 2007. Today autonomous car technology has arrived making 3D guideway-based transportation viable for the first time and allowing two, five and twelve person versions of the Shweeb (called SkySMART) capable of delivering the reliability and user experience required of a national public utility, based on a standardized platform.

By 2020 Frost & Sullivan estimates that globally PRT will be a $44B market. Gridlock is costing every major city worldwide billions of dollars in lost productivity and billions more each year in healthcare-related costs associated with vehicle emissions. There have been over 20 academic studies completed in North America alone that support both the economic and environmental sustainability claims of PRT systems. Studies also suggest that PRT systems will offer equal or lower operating and maintenance (O&M) costs than bus (BRT), streetcars, light rail (LRT), or mass transit systems; up to 40% less in some cases. Shweeb has incorporated this research into its planning and SkySMART system design.

Although current Shweeb products and services incorporate proven business models and the SkySMART system utilizes over 90% "off the shelf technology", in order to penetrate the glacially-paced transit sector, a full-scale demonstration and commercialization (D&C) project is required. The Shweeb-Can Corp plan involves the building of a "Transportation Through Entertainment" model that will not only feature an amusement park targeting enviro-conscious thrill-seekers, but it will also serve as a Demonstration and Commercialization project for larger scale urban deployments of the SkySMART system globally.

Shweeb will acquire and develop land in the tourist centre of Niagara Falls, ON for the first Shweeb SkySMART D&C site. Niagara Falls, ON attracts over 12 Million tourists per year making it an ideal location for an eco-ventures park with a Shweeb SkySMART system as the feature attraction. The entertainment component of the project will serve as a revenue generating source for the research and development and manufacturing centres on site. The targeted total investment required to launch the Niagara Falls, ON operations by 2016 is $10 million. The $1 million raised in this Indiegogo campaign will help generate PR and aid in securing the land purchase targeted for January 2015. Presently Shweeb-Can Corp has 23 prospective clients from around the world waiting to purchase a system for their city or park complex.

Solar Freakin Roadways & Shweeb SkySMART

If you loved Solar Roadways, then your're gonna love this! Imagine Shweeb SkySMART stations with Solar Roadways in the parking lot! We love Solar Roadways, so here we are ready to change the world with two of the most game-changing technologies in recent decades in one super cool solution!
Imagine electric vehicle charging stations in every SkySMART station too so you can travel guilt free and emisisons free to and from the SkySMART station! This is our plan! 100% sustainable and powered by human pedal power and renewable energy.

So How Does Shweeb SkySMART Work?

Shweeb SkySMART has been in development for over a decade and our proof of concept engineering model was designed by a team at Tata Motors so we have been in testing with our human powered generation technology long enough to tell you it works. The cool part is that when you are riding the SkySMART system those that pedal will pay less. We know not everyone will want to, or be able to pedal, no problem! If you catch up to he pod in front of you because they aren't pedaling (just using the slower electric assist) your pods can "synch up" allowing both pods to travel faster. If the electrical grid goes down, no problem SkySMART uses solar power with battery backup and if you are really stuck, you can just pedal to the next station.

Since Shweeb-Can Corp has been working with Google's Transportation Management team for years on this project, SkySMART will use Google "RoboCar" technology to manage the on demand pod deployment. Pods are ready when you arrive, so no waiting in long lines. In our FP5 model pod as shown above, the two front riders can pedal and in the second row there are three jump seats that can fold down permitting a family of five to travel together or for the seats to be folded up permitting a wheelchair rider to board as well.
