Bird photos book release : "Voltige" from Jerome Guillaumot

MONTPELLIER, France - Sept. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- The book

"Voltige" is the result of 7 years dedicated to photographing the most acrobatic postures of passerines from European regions : flight, argument and fight. Common species from our gardens (Tits, Robins, Finches, etc…) are presented in highly dynamical attitudes very unusual to see because they are impossible to catch with the naked eye due to their fugacity. Jérôme Guillaumot used high speed photo technics to be able to freeze these actions. All those behaviors have been very seldom photographed  so far.

The author set a white board behind the birds to keep the eye focused on the subject in action. The withdrawal of the natural background drives to a radical decontextualisation moving the creation far from the usual Animal Photography Genre. We can see a connection with the work from the famous French-American ornithologist and painter, Jean Jacques Audubon.

Jérôme Guillaumot has been rewarded by numerous international wildlife photography competitions, including Wildlife Photographer of the year (BBC/London Natural History Museum), German GDT competition, Montier-en-Der Animal and Wildlife Festival or Abbeville Bird Festival.
