Ralph Lauren Center Partners With Red Rooster, Providing Celebratory Lunches For Chemo Patients

Aug. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Harlem, New York -- On June 10, 2014 The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention teamed up with Red Rooster Harlem, providing the center’s chemo patients with complimentary lunch as a form of reward after undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Serving as the blueprint for holistic cancer care treatment, the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention is excited about the partnership with Red Rooster Harlem because of the restaurant’s similar goal to positively impact the Harlem community.

“Immediately after her lunch at Red Rooster Harlem, a patient called me to tell me what a wonderful time she had.  Marcus Samuelsson came to her table and chatted with her. She said the food was amazing and the staff was extremely attentive,” said Dr. Gina Villani, CEO & Medical Director of the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention. “For that hour she felt like a celebrity rather than a cancer patient. That says it all about this partnership.” Each month Ralph Lauren Center chemo patients will enjoy a 3 – course lunch with a guest of their choice.

This partnership is an effort to involve the Harlem community with some of the initiatives set forth by the Ralph Lauren Center. The center also aims to support and encourage the chemo patients so they can perseverare through this difficult time in their life.
