Five Icard Merrill Attorneys Are Recognized by Florida Super Lawyers

Aug. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Five members of the law firm Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, are included in the 2014 edition of Florida Super Lawyers, and one has been named a Florida Rising Star. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual listing has a rigorous screening process and represents no more than five percent of attorneys in the state.

Icard Merrill’s G. Matthew Brockway was recognized as a 2014 Florida Rising Star, in the practice area of Land Use and Zoning. This designation uses the same strenuous selection process as Super Lawyers but is reserved for candidates who are 40 years old and younger who have practiced for fewer than 10 years. Only 2.5% of lawyers in any state are named as a Rising Star.

Published as a part of the nationally distributed Super Lawyer Magazine, the Super Lawyers listing is intended to be a resource for legal counsel. Only lawyers who may be hired by the public are eligible for nomination. No one may purchase his or her way onto the listing. The lengthy selection process begins with peer nominations and includes independent third-party research. Each potential candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of achievement, with final selections made on a state level.
